What Causes Knee Pain?

Knee Pain Can Occur For A Number Of Different Reasons.

Here Are Some Of The More Common Causes Of Knee Pain Listed Below:

1. Degenerative Arthritis

The cartilage between the bone surfaces of the knee joint wear down causing joint dysfunction, pain, and inflammation.

2. Torn Ligaments/Tendons

Injured knee soft tissue causes instability, pain, and inflammation of the joint and supporting structures.

3. Bursitis

The knee joint is surrounded by three major purse-like structures known as bursae. These bursae serve as cushions to reduce friction between tissues of the body. These structures can become inflamed and painful, causing bursitis.

4. Baker Cyst

A Baker Cyst is swelling caused by fluid from the knee joint protruding to the back of the knee. The back of the knee is also referred to as the popliteal area of the knee. A Baker cyst is sometimes called a popliteal cyst. When an excess of knee joint fluid is compressed by the body weight between the bones of the knee joint, it can become trapped and separate from the joint to form the fluid-filled sac of a Baker cyst.

5. Post Surgical Pain

Unfortunately, a number of people have residual knee pain for months, or even years, after having knee surgery. In many cases, patients will resign themselves to just "live with pain." The good news is that Cold Laser Therapy will often get rid of the residual pain when nothing else helps. If you have knee pain, whether or not you've already had knee surgery, Cold Laser Therapy may be your solution.
